Navy Federal’s Visa Signature® Flagship Credit Card Rewards Military Families For Travel-Related Purchases

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Navy Federal Credit Union for IZEA Worldwide. All opinions are 100% mine.

For members of the military community, earning rewards for credit card purchases has never been easier or more convenient than it is with the newly relaunched Navy Federal Visa Signature Flagship Rewards Card. Since Navy Federal Credit Union opened its doors in 1933, it has operated with one goal in mind: to serve and cater to the needs of military members and their families. The relaunch of the Navy Federal Credit Union’s Flagship credit card in September of 2018 is just the latest move made by the credit union to further serve the brave men and women in uniform.

Rewards System

Each point that a Navy Federal cardholder earns through the rewards system is worth one cent when it is redeemed for cash, travel, or gift cards. So, for example, a cardholder who redeems 10,000 points will get $100 in cash back, flights, hotel stays, and more.

With the revamped Flagship credit card, the cardholder will earn 3x points every time the card is used for travel, which includes getaways, everyday travel, and travel experiences. These three rather broad categories encompass all of the following:

Getaways

  • Airline and train tickets
  • Hotel stays
  • Car rentals
  • Travel agencies
  • Cruises
  • Campgrounds and RV Parks
  • Timeshares
  • Boat rentals
  • Motor home rentals
  • Travel-related arrangement services

Everyday Travel

  • Ride-sharing services
  • Bridges
  • Tolls and ferries
  • Parking garages and parking lots
  • Bus lines
  • Limos and taxis
  • Commuter transport
  • Railways

Travel Experiences

  • Public golf courses
  • Amusement parks
  • Tourist attractions including museums, vineyards, and aquariums

In addition to the aforementioned purchases being worth 3x points, all other purchases made with the card will earn the cardholder 2x points. One of the card’s best features is that there is no limit to the rewards a cardholder can earn, and as long as a cardholder’s account remains open, their points will never expire.

Navy Federal Flagship Rewards Credit Card

Members with a decent financial standing may be privy to Navy Federal’s premium credit card, the Navy Federal Flagship Rewards card. Members who qualify for the Flagship credit card get to enjoy Navy Federal’s highest rewards and Flagship features and benefits, including accelerated points on travel (which includes everything from polls to terminals), collision damage waiver, worldwide automatic travel damage insurance, travel and emergency assistance, a $100 credit towards TSA Pre✓, and more. All cardholders will have access to 24/7 service, and all of their travel purchases will be rewarded for a small annual fee.

Between Navy Federal’s stellar rewards system, protections and benefits for its members, especially those who commute daily or travel for a living, as well as the annual fee of only $49, this card is more than worth checking out for anyone who qualifies for it.

How To Quality

The criteria that need to be met for an individual to qualify for the Navy Federal Credit Union Visa Signature Card are quite simple. The first, and arguably most important, qualification that must be met in order to receive a Navy Federal card is that the person applying must be military or be from a military family, making them eligible for membership. The official criteria for “military” or “military family” are described as such:

  • Active duty military
  • National Guard
  • Department of Defense contractor or civilian
  • Military veteran
  • Retired from any of the aforementioned positions
  • Born within two generations of an immediate family member (grandparents, parents, spouses, siblings, biological children, adopted children, step-children, grandchildren, and household members) who held any of the aforementioned positions

In addition to falling into at least one of these categories, you must have a qualifying credit score and an existing membership at Navy Federal Credit Union in order to be eligible for Navy Federal’s Flagship credit card.
