Why Should You Spend Your Summer At The Beach?
Sun, tanning, cold water, friends, and fun – all found in one place, the beach. The question here is, why not spend your summer at the beach? When it is time to relax and enjoy some time with friends or family, spending time at the beach is one of the best options. Relaxing in this case does not just mean lying down or sitting around, as that can be boring for some – at the beach, relaxing could be achieved by doing all sorts of activities, like beach volleyball, frisbee, and beach racquetball. If you are still not convinced, below are more reasons why.
1. It is enjoyed by everyone
People of all ages usually enjoy going to the beach due to its diversity. You can have a romantic getaway by the beach, a family trip, a wedding, a reunion party, just about anything! Even the activities on the beach can be enjoyed by everyone, an adult could build sandcastles, much as a child could enjoy water polo.
2. It’s… everywhere!
Well, almost everywhere. If you are away on vacation, chances are there is a beach nearby – especially if you are in or close to a coastal area like Florida. Most places, especially if they are a peninsula or an island, will either have a beach resort or a public beach close by that anyone can take advantage of.
3. Lots of activities
Unlike typical outings such as dining at a restaurant, there are so many fun activities to do at the beach. Even if you do not have any activities in mind, there are many beaches around the world that have special activities set up. St. George Island in Florida has fishing and biking, Bondi Beach in Australia has surfing, Drini Beach in Indonesia has dining locations right on the beach. Not all places have games or activities to enjoy, but if you bring speakers with you then you can listen to music all day long.
4. Health and fitness
The beach is not only fun and relaxing, it is also a way to get in your workout. With all those fun activities and swimming, you will definitely be burning lots of calories without even noticing. Those fun activities also keep you motivated to drink a lot of water and think about food less. You can also go for a jog by the shore – which will be extremely difficult and will burn even more calories, if not, then on a nearby sidewalk where you can enjoy the view will do the trick.
There may be some disadvantages to going to the beach. The first one, is if you are not getting enough hydration then you may possibly get a heat stroke. More importantly though, the biggest disadvantage of all… is the sand you will be finding everywhere weeks after you have already left the resort. Jokes aside though, the beach can truly be a lively getaway full of excitement and new games and activities to try and a way to take your mind off of work and other drama in your life. Just remember to hydrate and use sunscreen and you will be good to go.
