Following in Dutch airline KLM’s footsteps, British owned Thomson Airways has announced that it is going green[er] by making use of used cooking oil for their flights to Mallorca, Spain. This hallmark change will take effect beginning the twenty eighth day of this month and comes as a surprise to many travelers accustomed to traditional fuel-run aircrafts. During a training mission in Pachi Wagam district of Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, a gunman in Afghan police uniform opened fire and killed six NATO service members. The gunman was also killed in the incident and local officials believe the incident was not premeditated, but instead came from a misunderstanding; it is being investigated by joint Afghan and the International Security Assistance Forces (Isaf).
