All my life I have been visiting friends and family on Key Biscayne – a mostly residential community containing several homes with direct access to Biscayne Bay. Key Biscayne, or “the Key” as us locals like to call it, has changed so much over the last 20 years. What was once humble a community of one story homes for snow birds is now some of Miami’s most sought-after real estate.
This small exclusive island has more luxury condos and mega mansions than you can count. It is also home to the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, the annual Sony Open Tennis Tournament, and the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. The beaches here are also among the least touristic in Miami, which is why we recommend it in our article: Five Ways to Experience Miami Like a Local. The other day I was visiting my good friend of mine, Philippe and I brought over my drone to get some bird’s eye shots from his street.
