After exploring Thailand for several days and heading off to the Philippines for another few days in late 2017, I then made my next stop in Singapore! This was my third time visiting this unique city-state in southeast Asia, and it’s also one of my favorite places on the continent! I had a very limited amount of time there, so I hit the ground running. Join me as I go around, sampling hawker center foods in Singapore!
Hawker centers are a must when you visit Singapore. They’re basically open-air food courts that house lots of different stalls and vendors who sell delicious but inexpensive food. You can also find them in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Indonesia. Trust me when I tell you, hawker center foods are some of the most mouthwatering dishes in all of Asia! If you have been to Singapore but never visited a hawker center, unfortunately, you didn’t do it right. They’re the best place around to eat your heart out without breaking the bank!
I mentioned before that Singapore is one of my favorite locations in Asia. I love it so much because the city is safe, it’s super clean, and the food is really affordable. They also have the most mind-blowing airport in the world, which is an experience in itself!
I traveled from Manila to Singapore and headed straight to the Oakwood Premier OUE Singapore to check-in. From there, I met up with Jason and Chrysan from Wah! Banana Singapore. I was starving, so we went on an all-out hawker food binge! Here is everything we ate and drank:
Food:
Bak Kut Teh herbal soup
Liver and intestines soup
Chicken rice
Black and white Carrot cake (my favorite)
Mee Goreng
Oyster omelette
Kailan vegetables
Taupok (bean curd)
Drinks:
Kopi-peng
Teh Peng Siewdai
Teh C Kosong
Dessert:
Bo Bo Cha Cha
Bubor Hitam
Durian Ice Kacang
Wow! I had the best time sampling hawker center foods in Singapore with Wah! Banana. I ate way too much, though. I was practically in a food coma by the time we left. I needed to take a nap!
I have to thank Chrysan and Jason of Wah! Banana for taking the time to share these delicious hawker center foods with me! If you’d like to get to know them better, check out their incredible YouTube channel. You can also check out their Wah! Banana Instagram, as well as Chrysan’s Instagram and Jason’s Instagram.
My time in Singapore also wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing people at the Oakwood Premier OUE Singapore. They’re one of the best accommodations in town, hands down. If you’re looking for a place to stay during your trip to Singapore, check out their website!
Have you ever been to Singapore and eaten at a Hawker Center? If so, tell me about it in the comments!
