How to get to the Tulum Ruins

The travel time to get to the archaeological site is approximately 2 hours from Cancun and 1 hour from Playa del Carmen.
If you decide to drive yourself to the archeological site, you must go straight through Highway 307 and follow the signals. The road has no tolls so that you won’t get lost. Going by bus is also an economical option at the main ADO terminals in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. Buses will drop you off at the parking lot of the archaeological site and pick you up at the same place.
If you don’t want to worry about the transfer, you can book a guided tour with the different Cancun airport transportation companies. They usually include a round trip to the ruins and a bilingual guide.
Go early to the archeological zone
