In early March of 2020, I took the trip of a lifetime to the south Asian country of Bhutan, one of the destinations I’d wanted to explore ever since I became a world traveler. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a 12-day trip had to be rescheduled on the fly and then cut short by four days due to the mounting COVID-19 crisis exploding around the world.
That said, I had an epic adventure with my friends at MyBhutan, who took me on an unforgettable road trip through the cities of Punakha and Thimphu before a quick 24 hours in Haa Valley, and finally, to Paro, where I realized my dream of hiking to Tiger’s Nest Monastery! If you’d like to get a taste of where I went, check out the interactive map above. Exploring a new country at the beginning of a global pandemic is an experience I’d rather not repeat, but you have to roll with the punches and keep going! That said, I would not trade my time in Bhutan for anything. The memories I made there are so special and will stay with me for the rest of my life!
