My Next 52 Countries

I get this question all the time, “Where are you headed to next?” The reality is that I never know where I am going next, rather it’s usually a surprise when it finally becomes a reality. I do, however, have a bucket list for the next 55 countries I would like to visit in order to reach my first 100. So far I have visited most of Central America and 24 countries in Europe, but I am still missing several amazing ones.  At the moment my travel plans are a 10-day relaxing honeymoon in St. Lucia, but this is not a work trip…actually it’s the first vacation I’ll have in quite a long time.

As for 2013, it is still completely open, but I am in talks with many tourism boards and will be meeting with over 25 of them in London at the World Travel Market this November. I may not get the chance to visit all the countries on this list because, unlike other travel bloggers, I have to spend a considerable amount of time in each place in order to get all I need to make travel guides. So it’s taking me a lot longer (5 to 10 per year).. but so what because I’m going to reach 100 eventually! Smaller countries like Bahrain will take me 4 days tops, but large countries like India would be divided into separate trips with each trip focused on a specific region rather than just hitting the major tourist stops.

So much has happened in the last year that I couldn’t have predicted, I know that next year will be even better! My business is growing, I have met so many incredible travel bloggers and I have great things in the works for 2013.

The one place I left off the list (because it’s a continent, not a country) is Antarctica.. waiting on a confirmation to get this trip rolling.

As of May 2014, I have managed to visit Greece, Bulgaria, Swaziland, Rwanda, Moldova, Serbia, Thailand and Malaysia from this list.
