Temples and Beaches of Sri Lanka: Unawatuna

David’s Been Here continues its Sri Lankan journey through Rumassala and Unawatuna. Heading south from Galle, David visits the Vivekarama Temple, a giant whitewashed Buddhist Stupa of the Japanese tradition located on the Rumassala Hill. From this beautiful site you can catch panoramic views of the bay and Galle port off in the distance. Learn a bit of the Sinhalese language with David as he makes his way towards the south coast’s best beach, in the village of Unawatuna. Here you can take a dip in the refreshing waters of the Laccadive Sea while relaxing under the hot Sri Lankan sun. Go snorkeling, scuba diving or swimming in these beautiful waters, or visit the beautiful stupa located just up the steps from the beach. For all the best sites and activities in the area check out the DBH Guide: Galle, also available for your Kindle.
