This is a non for profit that rescues, rehabilitates and releases sea turtles back into the wild. Afterward we’re going to have lunch at one of my favorite seafood restaurants in Key Largo, the Fish House.

If you know me, you know that turtles are my favorite animal in the world. I have four sulcata tortoises of my own.

Bette manages the Turtle Hospital. The hospital is open 365 days a year. They have sick turtles, turtles that have recovered and some that are non releasable.

At the turtle hospital every turtle has their own tank just like a regular hospital. If you are in the state of Florida and spot an injured sea turtle please call the turtle hospital at +1-305-401-7669.

If you’re in Key Largo or just passing through, I recommend you come to The Fish House for some delicious seafood and Key Lime Pie!

Michelle has been managing the Fish House and Encore for over 13 years. They are known for their fresh fish, they fillet everything on premise.

I tried their Tuna Nachos, Fried Conch, Smoke Fish Dip, Snapper, a Dolphin Sandwich and the famous Key Lime pie. The Key Lime pie is to die for!

Their retail market is open everyday and open from 10 am to 10 pm. They have fresh yellow tail fillets, king crab, snow crab, scollops, shrimp, you name it they got it!

It’s been an amazing day in the Florida Keys getting to know the turtles at the Sea Turtle Hospital then dining on some incredible local seafood. I hope you make time to visit both the next time you’re down here!
