In the summer of 2018, I spent five days exploring the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in partnership with the Intercontinental San Juan. There, I linked up with my good friend and fellow travel vlogger Mariel de Viaje to go on several adventures around the island. On my second day in San Juan, Mariel and I headed out to eat some wild Puerto Rican food after visiting the Casa Bacardi factory to take a mixology class! Come along with us as we continue exploring the amazing island of Puerto Rico!
Mariel and I began our day by having a delicious breakfast at the Intercontinental San Juan. Then, with our bellies full, we headed out to the Casa Bacardi Factory. I couldn’t wait to check out the property and take their mixology class!
Casa Bacardi is the Bacardi rum factory in San Juan, Puerto Rico. If you love rum, this is one place you have to visit. Mariel and I took a tour of the property. Then, we had a blast learning how to make cocktails in our mixology class. We also tried our hands at making our own drinks! Then, finally, we bottled our own limited edition Bacardi rum bottles! They’re awesome and unique souvenirs to take home with you! To learn more about Casa Bacardi, check out their website!
From Casa Bacardi, we drove into Old San Juan and headed to Vaca Brava restaurant. This restaurant is known for its incredible and outrageous presentations! There, we enjoyed an amazing lunch of mofongo, pork chops, and fried red snapper.
The presentations of the foods are insane and the food itself is out of this world! I loved the thickness of the mofongo combined with the cheese and red salsa. The fattiness of the pork chops was also stellar! I also loved the fried red snapper, especially the eyes. This is some of the best Puerto Rican food in San Juan, for sure! I have to give a big thanks to my friends at the Intercontinental San Juan for making my time in Puerto Rico a smooth and fun experience. This trip wouldn’t have been possible without them! If you’d like to learn more about the Intercontinental San Juan, check out their website.
