Volunteer Opportunities in Guatemala: Touring Lake Atitlan

David’s Been Here shows some beautiful shots of Lake Atitlan from above before heading down to the lake’s shores. Here you can see the town of Panajachel, the beautiful mountainous landscape and various volcanoes surrounding the sparkling blue waters. Heading down to the shore, David takes off for a boat ride out to San Pedro, a laid back lake town where he does a quick tour of the main tourist area. Bumping into some locals, he learns about a youth project “Help Me Paint My Future” which helps underprivileged kids battle poverty in the San Pedro area. For more information on this organization, check out their website- and to learn more about Lake Atitlan and the San Pedro area, check out the DBH Guide to Guatemala, available for your Kindle as well.
