The Top Sites and Monuments of Zamora, Spain: Walking the Puente de Piedra

David’s Been Here is in Spain’s Castilla y Leon region, touring the beautiful city of Zamora. Here David tours one of the city’s iconic structures, the Puente de Piedra. Known by some as the Stone Bridge and others as the Roman Bridge, this Zamora monument dates back between the 12th and 14th centuries, and was once the only means of accessing the city from south of the river Duero. Built in the Romanesque style with 16 beautiful pointed arches, this ancient bridge is a must visit for all those touring the city of Zamora. For more information on visiting the bridge and all the city’s top sites, check out the David’s Been Here Guide to Castilla y Leon, now available for your Kindle as well.
