The World’s Largest Mosque: The Unfinished Hassan Mosque of Rabat, Morocco

David’s Been Here is in Rabat, Morocco, touring one of the most interesting sites in the country, the Hassan Mosque. Construction started on this mosque in 1191, but after Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour, the mastermind behind the construction died in 1199, the building stopped. What remains today is the unfinished minaret of what was supposed to be the largest mosque in the world. Even unfinished, the mosque is still an amazing site to visit.
