After an amazing trip to Singapore in 2017, I took a detour to the beautiful northern European country of Finland for a few days. I spent that time exploring the capital city of Helsinki for the third time and connecting with my good travel buddy, Jerry from Escape Mundane. While I was there, I decided to take a full day to explore four of the best craft breweries in the city. Come along with me as I take you to the best craft breweries in Helsinki, Finland!
I started off my day in Helsinki with a traditional Finnish breakfast at the best hotel in the city, the Klaus K Hotel. They have tons of delicious Finnish options if you’d like to immerse yourself in the local cuisine. They also offer a lot of Western favorites as well, like sausage, eggs, bacon, omelets, yogurt, and granola. Then, I spoke with Tero, the hotel manager, who told me a lot more about the hotel and property.
After speaking with Tero, I walked over to Ohrana Brewery to begin my tour of the best craft breweries in Helsinki, Finland! There, the brewmaster, Jani, gave me a tour of the brewery. After touring their awesome facility, Jani showed me how they mix an Indian Porter and an IPA. Unfortunately, Ohrana Brewery has permanently closed its doors. It’s a shame because their beer was really good!
Then, I walked towards the White Cathedral to Bryggeri Brewery, where I tried some delicious beers with their head brewmaster, Mathias. He is German so the beers are more German styles. I loved them! They were really tasty.
Next, I took a taxi to Stadin Panimo, where I tried a few different IPAs and an Amber Ale. To finish up my tour of the best craft breweries in Helsinki, Finland, I walked over to Vallilan Panimo, where the head brewmaster, Markus, gave me a taste test of a handful of yummy beers.
What an awesome day exploring the world of Finnish craft beer! I had so much fun! I have to give a huge thanks to my boy Jerry.
