Incredible Places You Must Visit in Delhi & Southern Indian Food | Delhi, India

During my second day in Delhi, India, I partnered up with Tours by Locals to explore the best places you must visit in Delhi, India plus we went to eat Southern Indian Food for lunch! Abhay, my guide, took me to see all the main attractions in Old Delhi and also a few must-visits just a short tuk-tuk or metro ride away.

We started our tour in Chandni Chowk, where we visit Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Red Fort, Meena Bazaar, Sunday Market, and Jama Masjid, the biggest mosque in Delhi.

From there we headed to the India Gate, followed by the Hauz Khas neighborhood. There, we visited Naivedyam, an incredible southern Indian restaurant where we ate mouthwatering southern Indian dishes like papadum, masala dosa, idli, and sweet paan. The taste of the food here was even better than that of what we had tried in NYC Indian Restaurants.

It was my first time having southern Indian food in India and I knew it wouldn’t be my last. Everything was so tasty and bursting with vibrant and unique flavors. They tantalized my taste buds and made my mouth water!

Next up were the Hauz Khas ruins, which was the second city of Delhi dating back to 1296-1316. In case you didn’t know, Delhi is a fantastic city to visit if you want to explore India’s history! There are so many fascinating historical sites around the city.

From the Hauz Khas ruins, we took a tuk-tuk, the metro, and a second tuk-tuk to Qutub Minar. It’s the world’s tallest freestanding minaret and is part of the Qutub Complex. This complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Mehrauli area of Delhi. These were incredible places you must visit in Delhi, India!
