Last year we published our Top 12 Best Gifts for Travelers, so we’re continuing the tradition with this year’s list of perfect gifts for travelers this holiday season. Most of us know a frequent traveler, and whether they travel for business or pleasure, it’s important to gift them something unique that he or she doesn’t already own.
After scouring the internet and magazines, we’ve come up with this list of gifts we believe are perfect for all types of travelers. Without further ado, here it is.
Frequent travelers’ luggage and accessories take a beating so it’s vital to give them a present that will last. This is exactly why leather is a great material – it’s naturally waterproof, durable, and never goes out of style. The zip-around travel wallet by Leatherology ($95 plus $10 monogramming) comes in 13 different colors and two types of leather grain. The zipper ensures that passports, credit cards, and important documents stay put and the monogram gives it a very personal touch. Leatherology has tons of other travel accessories including jewelry rolls, cosmetic bags, and luggage ID tags in all shapes colors and sizes.
Travelers need to constantly charge their devices, which is why we love the Global ChargingHub 300 by Ventev ($34.99). It is a patented USB hub capable of charging devices across 150 countries. The design gives it all the benefits of a standard plug adapter, but with the added benefit of having two extra USB ports to charge cell phones, tablets, digital cameras, e-readers, you name it. You can charge two devices via the USB ports at a time, which maximizes travelers’ precious time. Ventev also sells a USB charging hub that can power up to four devices at a time.
The Sony Cybershot line ($89.99 – $2,799.99) is perfect for travelers because of its lightweight cameras and photo quality. Travelers have to learn to pack light, and unless they are professional photographers, they’ll need a camera that won’t take up a lot of space but will give them great images. There are several models to choose from, but after reviewing them all we like the WX500 Compact Camera with 30x Optical Zoom ($329.99). It has a large LCD monitor so you don’t have to squint into a viewfinder. The monitor also pivots for the perfect selfie.
The Scratch Map Deluxe ($35.95) is an affordable gift that every traveler will love. Printed on sturdy card stock and featuring a beautiful unique design, the scratch map reveals exactly where the traveler has been. Just scratch off the country with a coin to reveal brightly colored countries to keep track of world travels. What makes the Scratch Map such a great gift is that the recipient will likely be using it for years to come (unless, of course he or she has already been to every country). And who doesn’t like gifts that keep on giving? You can purchase it in gold/black (pictured above) or gold/white from Uncommon Goods. The website also has a host of other great travel gifts like clothing organizing bags, world maps, and travel-inspired home decor.
This isn’t your average scarf. The Robdechi X Hybrid Scarf ($150) is designed to be worn several different ways, depending on what the traveler wants. It has a built-in inflatable neck pillow, hand pockets, a hidden zippered pocket for passport or money, sewn-in microfiber cloth to clean glasses or electronic screens, and a drop-down privacy cloth that filters out light for times when getting some shut-eye is crucial. Gold buttons secure the scarf how you want it and the unisex design is very practical.
Adidas Trainers ($75 – $100) are a classic wardrobe stable for the casual traveler. They are comfortable, lightweight, and are unisex. A pair of Adidas Trainers can last for years – and durability is key for those who hit the road often. We like them better than converse sneakers because the leather is waterproof and can be wiped clean. You can buy them at M and M Direct or at any department store if you’re in the U.S.
GRID-IT!® Cocoon products are designed to make packing easier and help travelers actually find what they pack when they reach their destinations. We absolutely love the GRID-IT!® Large Organizer ($24.99) for digital gadgets, chargers, and smaller items that always seem to get lost. Instead of putting everything in plastic bags, the GRID-IT!® packs flat in your suitcase so it won’t take up too much room and allows you to see everything at once. You can configure it your own way thanks to the retention system that gives you endless options.
These days, travelers are constantly uploading their photos on Instagram. Give the traveler in your life the chance to print their favorite Instagram travel posts with a beautiful photobook by Social Print Studio ($25). Each hardcover photobook has 38 pages of thick, glossy paper on which to display their favorite Instagram posts (emojis included!) They can choose to have 1 image per page or several in a grid layout. Since the photos are uploaded directly to Social Print Studio’s website, you’ll have to buy your traveler a gift card from the online shop.
